Blog

We've said it before, and we'll say it again: content is king.

If you want your website to be successful, there is just one thing that you are going to have to do. You're going to have to produce high quality, solid, well researched, original content. And more than once.

Go Big or Go Daddy

Marketing doesn't always have to be good, it just has to be memorable. It's the reason that so many products have slogans and jingles that are SO terrible. They are created to soak into your sub-conscious and stay there for days/weeks/years (Thanks, Nationwide, J.G. Wentworth, Rice-A-Roni, etc.).
We recently had the pleasure of redesigning the Oxford American website. The Oxford American is an award winning magazine dedicated to featuring the best in Southern writing while documenting the complexity and vitality of the American South.

With 2014 coming to an end, I figured it was about time to take a look at what's going to be BIG in 2015. I pulled up my trusty pal Google, and got to work. I researched upcoming web design trends, UX trends, and overall digital trends that were sure to pack a punch in the new year. Here are the 20 that I came across quite consistently.
Us - "So, what are some features you'd really like your website to have?"
Client - "I'd really like for us to have a blog. Because, blog."
Us - "Do you have someone who's going to actually write blog posts?"
Client - *crickets*
Back in April, specifically April 21, a Chobani marketing crew stood right outside our window on a busy corner in downtown Little Rock. Up until this point, I had always been iffy on greek yogurt, and swore up and down that it was definitely "disgusting", "gross", and "too cottage-cheesy" for me. Thad however, asked if I had ever tried Chobani, to which I of course said no. Five minutes later, we were headed down to the street corner to try my first cup of Chobani.

Big picture, there are really only about 3 top-level reasons people use the internet. The first is research and education. The second is shopping, marketing, commerce. The last is entertainmet, like looking at pictures of cat heads in bread (yea, that was a thing for a while). To be honest, most people do more of the latter than any of the former, but it wasnt so long ago that the web was a much different beast and sites full of pictures was not a reality.
