We worked closely with their staff and designer, Tom Martin, to update the look and feel of the site to keep it true to the magazine's print aesthetic. In fact, if you hold up a print issue beside the website, they are strikingly similiar. The big win for the OA was the updated functionality and customization of their site. They can now add content where they want it, so that it is logical and easy to to find, sort and search by the user. They can designate content to be in sections such as music, interviews, poetry, and even create new sections on the fly.
The Oxford team (specifically Eliza, Max, & Caitlin) was a pleasure to work with, they truly have a passion for what they do. And while they had a very specific set of goals they were always very open to suggestions from the Pixel team. They also were a tremendous help when it came to importing the thousands of articles into the new content management system. The site will continue to grow and evolve, but it is already a great success, and we've heard nothing but rave reviews.
