Over the past few years, online searches have gone from being predominately fragmented keywords, to queries being phrased in the form of a question: Where can I buy diamond earrings? When is the next full moon? Why are my ears ringing? How can I improve my website’s organic search rankings? People are speaking search phrases more often to find the information they are looking for. This is due largely in part to the growing popularity of virtual assistants, such as Apple’s Siri, Microsoft’s Cortana and Amazon’s Alexa.
These days it seems like Google is constantly updating and editing their algorithms. Just as everyone is getting used to new changes, rankings go haywire and the realization that we’re in for another overhaul sets in. September brought another round of updates, this time with a shake up in the way Google ranks local business search results. The update, lovingly being called “Possum”, was made on September 1st and consists mostly of new ways that the local filter will diversify the results users see and prevent spam from ranking in the top of the list.
Over the past couple of years you've probably noticed a change when searching for information online. Imagine this scenario: One night you're making dinner and the recipe says to blanch the broccoli. Because you're not Julia Child, you have no idea how to do this, so you do what any normal person would do and turn to the Internet for help.

Search engine optimization revolves around fresh, relevant content. One of the best ways for websites to display and maintain high-ranking content is through a blog.

What Google likes and dislikes is constantly changing, but one thing that continues to get a lot of juice from Google is video content.

We often get asked, "will my social media accounts help my seo?"

The answer is a seemingly easy one - no, because Google still has not said for sure that social media signals are a part of their ranking algorithm.
